DJI announces prizes for top 3 teams at each venue

Congratulations to the top performers in the 2015 edition of the International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC) Da-Jiang Innovations Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (“DJI”), with headquarters in Shenzhen China, is a world leader in computer-stabilized vertical lift aerial camera platforms. DJI is awarding brand new Matrice 100 flight platforms and flight controller software developers’ kits (SDK) with a total value of approximately USD$5,000 to the six top performing teams at the American and Asia/Pacific Venues (three per venue).

The 2015 winners of the DJI awards are:

  • Hong Kong - The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology
  • Canada - École Polytechnique de Montréal
  • China - Naval Aeronautical and Astronautical University
  • USA - University of Michigan
  • China - Harbin Institute of Technology
  • USA - Kennesaw State University - Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology

Each of these six university teams receive a new DJI Matrice 100 flight platform with sense-and-avoid technology as well as the SDK to use in further development. The DJI Matrice 100 is designed as a development testbed with an open architecture and customizable features. DJI aerial platforms are in use by a number of the teams attempting Mission 7a of the IARC and also comprise the top five UAV types used by U.S. companies receiving Federal Aviation Administration “Section 333 Exemptions” in 2015.
